EMS Shipmanagement and EMS Crewing: On track for continued success under new names

Previously known as Fehn Ship Management and Northwest Competence, the German shipping companies are now sailing under a common flag with their sister company EMS Chartering. Together, the three companies provide international customers with comprehensive maritime services from a single source.
The German shipping companies Fehn Ship Management and Northwest Competence continue their successful path under the new names EMS Shipmanagement and EMS Crewing. Together with their sister company EMS Chartering, they form a strong unit offering comprehensive maritime services ranging from crewing and technical ship management to chartering. As the maritime division of the EMS-Fehn-Group, the three companies also operate under the common branding EMS Group.
“The rebranding to EMS Shipmanagement and EMS Crewing is a clear statement of unity. At the same time, it shows at a glance in which area the companies are active,” says Andreas Bergmann, CEO and founding partner of UNIATLANTICO. The Hamburg-based shipping company acquired a majority stake in EMS Chartering, EMS Shipmanagement and EMS Crewing in July 2024.
“Despite the name changes, we are focusing on continuity. In recent months, the experienced EMS teams have succeeded in further expanding the business of all three companies and optimizing internal processes,” says Bergmann. “While the requirements in the maritime industry are becoming more complex, we have put ourselves in a position to support our international customers even more efficiently with tailor-made solutions from a single source”. All three companies are headquartered in Leer, Germany. They have further offices in Bremen, Hamburg and Riga.
The name change is accompanied by a harmonization and careful modernization of the company logo, which is reminiscent of a stylized ship's propeller. “The new uniform logo builds on our decades of tradition and at the same time shows that we consider ourselves as modern companies that embrace change so that we can continue to offer our customers first-class, state-of-the-art services in the future,” says Andreas Bergmann.
